MEDIA ADVISORY
Oct 13, 2025
ROCHESTER - On Saturday, October 18, there will be over 2,000 "NO KINGS" events being held around the United States, as well as in other countries. Here in Rochester, we have MANY events! These will range from smaller groups with signs to honk & waves around Monroe County and beyond, to a march in the city. Learn more about NO KINGS.

All of these events share one common message: "We don't do kings in America!" We are protesting the authoritarian takeover of our country. We are urging our political representatives to do whatever they can to halt the advancing deterioration of our Civil Rights. We are calling on the military to remember that their oath is to the Constitution, not to the president. And we are calling for all concerned citizens to join us.

MONROE COUNTY: MAKING MOVES TO DEMAND NO KINGS
On October 18, join your fellow Rochesterians, near and far, at one or more of these events to make your voice heard.

Together, with local partners, including G.R.I.T. and others, we're kicking off the day in Pittsford and Gates. Our goal of being in various towns throughout the day is to make this protest day accessible across the county! We'll rally mid-day in Brighton and wrap up in Webster. All are welcome.

A NOTE FOR PROTESTORS

  • Consider how you want to make the most of your protest day. If you're heading out, bring a friend or a group of friends, and plan for parking and accessibility. Bring a water bottle. Carpool or walk when possible. We encourage attending more than one, if you have time and resources. If you've got experience at protests and want to get involved, it's not too late to sign up to support the day. If you're not sure about attending, drive by with a honk and wave, maybe share a sign from the car. And if you stay home, consider at-home actions to support the Rochester community. More details on ways you can participate will be added here soon.

  • We ask everyone to assess their personal sense of safety on the day. At 50501 RocNY, we ensure that each listed location has prioritized the planning and safety of attendees with a dedicated lead organizer, lead safety marshal, lead medic, and press contact.

  • Events with mutual aid collections for personal care items are specifically asking for hygiene and period products, socks, and underwear. These items will be distributed by Roc Mutual Aid and Roc Food Not Bombs. For all mutual aid items, we thank you for anything you can share.

A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.

50501 RocNY is is the Rochester, New York and Monroe County chapter of the national FIFTY-FIFTY-ONE a decentralized, non-partisan grassroots movement.
