Mutual Aid
November unfolds as federal support continues to lag, leaving 2.93 million SNAP beneficiaries across New York struggling with worsening food insecurity. The need for programs, resources, and volunteers to make sure our neighbors and community have access to food and resources as we head into the winter months is huge.
We will use this space to amplify local mutual aid organizations in order to connect folks to resources and opportunities to get involved.
The following organizations provide crucial food assistance and support services to the Rochester community.
Rochester Food Not Bombs recovers resources to create free vegetarian and vegan meals in our local community. The organization operates a network of free food stands throughout Rochester that anyone can use: take what you need, contribute what you can.
Free hot meals are served every Saturday and Wednesday at 6:30PM in front of the RTS Transit Center on St. Paul.
Free hot coffee and baked goods served every Wednesday morning at 7 outside the RTS St Paul St. entrance
